RE: What's on the floor inside of your door in the RV?

I have these on my steps, and also purchased the matching mats for outside and inside and they keep all the dirt, rocks and other debri deep inside the mats. I also take my shoes off. My carpet stays really clean. I do like how all the dirt collects inside the mats. I've been using them for almost 3 years now.

RE: Remote truck starter?

I've had one installed back in 2005, and I haven't had any problems with it. It can be programmed (delay start for glow plugs) to start Diesel Trucks also. I've never used all the options, and there are several of them. I use it mainly so I can just jump in my truck and take off without waiting a few minutes for the engine to warm up. Code Alarm
On Edit: this is the one I have click here
it is combined with a security alarm also. but they carry all different types with a variety of different key fobs.

RE: fireplace for TT

Dimplex is a major manufacturer of electic fireplaces and many RVs are equipped with the type this company advertises.

RE: Tight 12 volt outlet

the 12 volt outlet behind my television is so tight that i got my inverter stuck in it.----is there any thing i can do to fix this problem.
I had the same problem with my previous TT. I had read somewhere, possibly on a thread in this forum, that the tight outlets were a metric size, rather than the standard one used in North America. Just buy a new outlet, and replace the old one.I would check the fit with a 12 volt plug in the store before buying to make sure everything will work as it should.
CRAMD is correct. An RV Tech told me the same thing about the one in my bedroom closet. The below link kind of describes the different sizes.

RE: How long should Walk thru at dealership take for inspecting?

Mine took a week (several hours after work each day). My only advice is to take as long as you can to accomplish the job. Good Luck and Congratulations!

RE: Heating with no Electricity??????

When I've boondocked, I've used a propane heater while up and a 12 volt blanket (between the mattress and sheet) while sleeping and eventually turn it off early morning. Worked fine and got really toasty without draining the batteries.

RE: Waste transfer bags???

Here are some heavy duty bladders that hold fresh water, waste water, chemicals and fuel. They sell pumps also. Not sure if this is what you are looking for or not. Good Luck with your search.

RE: Picking up new TT--things to ask/look for?

I agree with the other posters. Print out a good PDI list and check everything. I took a week (everyday after work) to go over my trailer with a fine tooth comb. I did one area/system at a time. By that Saturday it was completed. Make sure they fill the fresh water tank and have propane connected. I actually sat in there using everything each day I showed up. Try not to rush yourself on the day of delivery and if time allows, more than one day of inspecting would serve you better. Good Luck and Congratulations!
on edit: The sales guy told me he was impressed with my complete inspection and asked for a copy of the list I was using, as he had never seen one before. So, it appeared to me that there are folks that don't conduct complete inspections of their RVs before they take posession.

RE: Anyone use faketv for security in their fiver?

Best security when in a campground is get to know your neighbors. Let the know when you'll be away.
Ditto! and nosey neighbors don't cost anything ;-)

Depends on the weather. Check it before you leave.
Or you might see some of this white stuff ;-) Just this past May, I pulled through the Grand Canyon Railway Park and out of nowhere...SNOW.

RE: Armour All on Slide Seals

The baby powder helps to prevent the rubber slide seals from dragging and pulling apart when you open or close your slide. It really puts a slippery coating on them and it works! Actually, most RVs with slides that leave the factory have some type of powder on the seals.

RE: Tool that dumps water off the slide awnings?????

Some folks just use their Patio Awning rod tool and hook it over the little arms that extend at the ends of "Slide Out" Awnings and pull it forward to release the water without having to actually move in the slide outs. I haven't had to do that because my slides are short and don't hold water. Good Luck and Happy Travels.

RE: What do you find easier

What worked for me was arriving with a full tank of fresh water, gallon containers of water, bottled water, and empty gray/black holding tanks. I can go 2 and a half weeks before I need to dump. And when that time came, I dumped all holding tanks, and refilled the fresh water tank and moved to several different locations within Quartzsite over almost a 3 month period. If I planned on staying in one spot the entire time and didn't want to move, I would have just got pumping service and fresh water service. Happy Travels!

RE: Washer/Dryer Combo problem

If you have a model that has a "No Spin" button, make sure it's not engaged. My model has one, and if it is pressed the drum will not spin. I'm sure there is some logic to why they have these "no spin" options, but I don't use it. Good Luck!

You can use plain water and a micro fiber towel.
I'll second that! It works perfectly.
